These aren’t the droids you’re looking for..

10:08 am Wed, 29th June 2005

People at work found my blog. Including my boss. How embarrassment. Err I mean… hey guys! *waves hello dutifully* Hrm I wonder if those jedi mind tricks would work here… *passes hand through the air* Nothing to see here. Move along.. move along..

So apparently someone did a google search on “A.d.g.i.s.t.i.c.s” and my site came up. Damn google ranking my site so high. How do I go about err… making my site less searchable? Then again maybe it’s not such a bad thing.. maybe I should take advantage of this and try make some money or something… just so that the site can pay for itself. Hosting this ain’t that cheap. Hrmm. But then, would I be compromising the integrity and purity of my site if I put those evil banner ads up? Hrmm. Although, those google adsense ads don’t seem as bad as the ugly banner ads you normally get.

So what do you, my readers (and lurkers), think? (Note my subtle attempt to draw the lurkers out of the shadows..)

Current listening :: “She’s Like The Wind” – Patrick Swayze (Hm… think I feel like watching Dirty Dancing again.. both of em! “Nobdy puts baby in a corner!” Hee! :))

The Special Two

I was listening to Missy Higgins “The Special Two” on the way to work this morning… and it’s meaning struck me.. I only just realised what the song was actually about. I love it when that happens. When the meaning of a song suddenly hits you, and you understand in your heart what the musician was trying to say. And even can identify with it somewhat..

I’ve hardly been outside my room in days,
’cause I don’t feel that I deserve the sunshine’s rays.
The darkness helped until the whiskey wore away,
And it’s then I realize the conscience never fades.
When you’re young you have this image of your life
That you’ll be scrupulous and one day even make a wife.
And you make boundaries you’d never dream to cross,
And if you happen to you wake completely lost.
But I will fight for you, be sure that
I will fight until we’re the special two once again.

And we will only need each other, we’ll bleed together,
Our hands would not be taught to hold another’s,
When we were the special two.
And we could only see each other, we’d bleed together,
These arms will not be taught to need another,
‘Cause we were the special two.

I remember someone old once said to me:
“Lies will lock you up with truth the only key.”
But I was comfortable and warm inside my shell,
And couldn’t see this place would soon become my hell.
So is it better to tell and hurt or lie to save their face?
Well I guess the answer is don’t do it in the first place.
I know I’m not deserving of your trust from you right now,
But if by chance you change your mind you know I will not
Let you down ’cause we were the special two, and will be again.

And we will only need each other, we’ll breathe together,
Our hands will not be taught to need another’s,
When we’re the special two.
And we could only see each other we’ll bleed together,
These arms will not be taught to need another…

I step outside my mind’s eye’s for a minute.
And I look over me like a doctor looking for disease,
Or something that could ease the pain.
But nothing cures the hurt you, you bring on by yourself,
Just remembering, just remembering how we were…

I really hated it when my colleagues browse my blogsite, and afaik some of them actually subscribe to it. So I don’t blog about work anymore…

AdSense. Oh yeah. I just added that to the top 20 requested pages on my blogsite, and I have made USD$1.50 over the last 24 hours (I have around 600-700 visitors per day). With that rate of income, I can be a millionaire in less than 2,000 years! Looking forward to that…

i don’t like it when work colleagues browse my blog either. so i changed the proxy settings at work so that they couldn’t see it. however that may not work for you…
otherwise how am i gonna have a whinge about work?
if you don’t wanna be searchable through google (for the future) there’s some stuff on the google site on how to hide your site.

I love the Special Two! One of my fave songs over the past couple of months. I prefer her album version over the unplugged one – I think she sings it more meaningfully and subtly.

Dear employee with blog on your site:
Our top brass doesn’t like what you write.
    Office tales that you list
Caused the boss to be pissed,
Ending your employ as of tonight.

I don’t think I mind the google ads. As long as you don’t have those big flashy-thinggy’s up and junk.
